Through singing we learn to rise and fall
To take flight on the wings of music
And ebb into the embrace of silence
The song pulses and releases
Through singing we learn to mark time
To punctuate space with rhythm
And release the reins of our minds
The song inhales and exhales
Through singing we learn to breathe
To connect to nourishing inspiration
And express our griefs and our loves
The song unifies and distinguishes
Through singing we find diverse harmony
To know the unique song of our soul
And blend it in the hum of the whole
