Tender grows the plant
Stretching its neck towards the sky
Unfurling its petals to face the sun
Tender are the leaves trembling
In the icy crisp autumn air
Whispering their secret leafy songs
Tender are the human hearts
Trekking their way around this city
To make what they will of the day
Tender are the faces of children
With freshly opened inquisitive eyes
And the smoothest peachy soft skin
Tender is this new day
Flexing its feline spine
To meet the morning sun
Tender is the web of life
Connecting all things one to another
With intricate tendrils of life light
